Annual Lake Health Meetings

The CHA's annual Lake Health meeting (formerly Lake Stewards meeting) provides our member associations with state of the art information they need to protect their lake(s).

Top lake health experts make presentations and facilitate discussions each year on the 1st Saturday of May

Past speakers have included:

  • Widely respected lake health expert – Dr Norman Yan;
  • Blue Green Algae experts including Dr Andrew Patterson;
  • The Safe Wakes Coalition;
  • Septic Inspection experts;
  • Invasive Species experts;
  • Fish Ecology expert David Flowers;
  • Shoreline expert Barb Elliot – Fleming College.

Typically, this meeting is attended by approximately 100 people from our member associations plus Mayors and Council members from our 4 local municipalities.

10 organizations set up tables so that our members can visit and ask questions.

Members also have a chance to talk to their counterparts with fellow lake associations.
