OPP Funding Model

February 23, 2016

The Ontario Liberal government has devloped a new OPP Funding Model that will cost Haliburton County an additional $3,200,000 with no change to police services.
Changes were made to the original proposal, which could have cost $5,000,000; but they still do not address the needs of this county and many others.
Your phone calls and letters helped to reduce that increase.
The increase is to be implemented in January 2015, with the cost increase phased in over a 5-year period, capping the annual increase at $40 per property.

See FOCA's views and more details about this change that robs Peter to pay Paul by clicking here.
Also, find out what the county has to say about this and what you can do to alter this increase by clicking here.
